Report on the Meeting of the Warsaw Pact (WP) Deputy Foreign Ministers

21 Feb 1977
Description: This report on the February 1977 meeting of the WP deputy foreign ministers in East Berlin concerns relations between the Scandinavian countries and the WP. All the speakers, with the exception of the Romanian deputy foreign minister, characterize the foreign policies of the Scandinavian states on issues concerning the execution of the Helsinki Final Act and disarmament as being similar to those of the Socialist countries. The Scandinavian countries (espcecially Finland) are said to be making greater efforts to widen the scope of mutual cooperation with Eastern Europe and to enhance economic relations on a bilateral basis.
