State of Development and Planning of US Army for NATO

Description: This document addresses US Army planning and assignments for NATO. It was prepared by the East German Stasi (Staatssicherheit) intelligence agency. Special attention is paid to supply, infrastructure, and the introduction of new weapons and equipment. The authors conclude that the military presence in Europe is of high importance to the US. This is reflected in increased troop assignments and constant modernization. Attached is a list contrasting NATO demands and their fulfillment by the US.
