Report on the First Session of the Warsaw Pact Committee of Defense Ministers

Description: This report by East German Minister of Defense Heinz Hoffmann to Erich Honecker, the head of the East German National Defense Council, reviews the first session of the Warsaw Pact Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in Moscow in 1969. The document presents the agenda of the CDM meeting as well as the discussions and its results. The CDM reviewed NATO's policies, the development of the Warsaw Pact's land and air forces, and the working scheme for the United Armed Forces' staff, its technical committee, and the CDM.
