East German Statement (Development of the East German Air Force)

Description: This is a statement of the East German Ministry of Defense addressing the state and development of its air force. The statement was presented during the 15th session of the Warsaw Pact Committee of Defense Ministers in Prague in 1983. In the light of the increasing capabilities of the US and other NATO air forces, the East German Ministry of Defense argues in favor of modernizing its air force. The statement lists some of the lessons learned from the joint military exercises of the WP United Armed Forces.
