Description: This is a draft resolution adopted at the extraordinary session of the Warsaw Pact Committee of Ministers of Defense (CMD) in East Berlin in 1983. The document analyzes the security threats emanating from the US and NATO. It refers to NATO's plans for the deployment of Pershing II intermediate-range ballistic missiles and of cruise missiles in Western Europe. It is proposed to enhance the military capabilities of the United Armed Forces (UAF) by the year 1985 and to improve the UAF's command-and-control system.
