Speech by the First Secretary of the Polish United Workers' Party (Edward Gierek)

Description: This document is a transcript of a speech given by the first secretary of the Polish Polish United Workers' Party, Edward Gierek, at the January 1972 meeting of the Political Consultative Committee. Gierek addresses the discussions at the 25th COMECON meeting, Maoism and US-Chinese relations, and the organization of a pan-European security conference. Gierek also refers to the Moscow Treaty between the Soviet Union and West Germany and asserts that this treaty paves the way for further agreements such as the one between Poland and West Germany.
